Fuzzed-out vintage synthesizers, big guitars, heavy bass, and two heavily processed voices define Portland band OBSERVER, who call what they make heavy pretty music.

Ezekiel Rudick and Tony Reyes started the group in 2024 as a quiet synth project, and it grew into a four-piece with Katie Skiff on vocals and synthesizers and Shawn Steven on bass. The band's dual vocals, layered synth textures, and taste for volume appeal to fans of acts ranging from Low, Big Brave, Jesu, and Sunn O))) to The Cure and Cocteau Twins.

First album Eight Bells was recorded at Echo Echo with Matthew Thomson of Ivy League Recording (Strange Ranger, Federale, Abronia) and at the band's home studio in SW Portland, and mastered by Carl Saff (Big Business, Young Widows, Earthless). It is slated for a 2027 release.
